Hydrobath & Grooming

Our Hydrobath is opened from 8am to 1pm every Saturdays (no booking required) and by appointment during the week.  Warmed in winter and catering for flea wash to medicated shampoo, your pooch will love visiting.  Visit our reception team to purchase a one-off hydrobath, or a 5 Bath Voucher for best value, then head to the porch at the back of the clinic where Samantha and Courtney will be waiting.

Nail Clips can be completed while your pet is visiting for a consultation, surgical procedure or as a stand alone appointment.  Call the clinic to arrange a suitable time.

Comfort Clips are performed by our nursing team by appointment.  While we don't call ourselves groomers by anymeans, we are happy to clip that excess winter fur or matts from your dog or cat.  Pets stay in for half a day to a full day (dependant on our schedule and your work committments) and can receive a sedation/anaesthetic where required (recommended for cats) under the direct care of our veterinary team.

Stones Corner Vet Surgery also have a range of brushes and combs, nail clippers and both natural all-purpose and medicated shampoos and conditioners for your home grooming needs. Call in and speak to our reception team about what products would suit your pet best.

Grooming at Home

Grooming is an important part of pet care. Depending on the breed, age,and health of your pet, grooming may even need to be a part of you and your pet’s daily routine. Many breeds require less grooming than this, but regular grooming always helps to keep your pet healthy and comfortable.  Some breeds don't shed their hair effectively (eg. Poodles) and require grooming by a professional every 6-8 weeks. Long haired cats can particularly benefit from regular grooming as it helps prevent the formation of knots on the skin and hairballs in the stomach.

We encourage you to engage in regular grooming with your pet at home. There are numerous benefits of regular grooming, for example:

  • Decreased chance of skin problems

  • Optimal skin cleanliness and comfort for you and your pet

  • Improved monitoring of health issues like cuts, heat, swelling, lameness, or changes in temperament.

  • Enhanced behavioural routines with obedient submission during grooming periods

  • Closer bonding with your pet through regular contact
