Hydrobath & Grooming

Our Hydrobath is opened from every Saturdays from 8:15am-12:15noon (no booking required). Warmed in winter and catering for flea wash to medicated shampoo, your pooch will love visiting.  Visit our reception team to purchase a one-off hydrobath, or a 5 Bath Voucher for best value, then head to the porch at the back of the clinic where Rebecca and Grace will be waiting.

Nail Clips can be completed while your pet is visiting for a consultation, surgical procedure or as a stand-alone appointment.

Call the team or see our online booking to find a time that suits.

Grooming for cats requiring sedation and/or general anaesthetic can be catered for. This is a day procedure and requires a physical examination and normal precautions that come with any general anaesthetic operation. Clipping is performed by our nursing team. We do not have a Groomer on staff.

Please call the team to discuss your cat's needs further.

Grooming at Home

Stones Corner Vet Surgery has a range of brushes and combs, nail clippers and both natural all-purpose and medicated shampoos and conditioners for your home grooming needs.

Grooming is an important part of pet care. Depending on the breed, age, and health of your pet, grooming may even need to be a part of you and your pet’s daily routine. Many breeds require less grooming than this, but regular grooming always helps to keep your pet healthy and comfortable.

Some breeds don't shed their hair effectively (e.g. Poodles) and require grooming by a professional every 6-8 weeks. Long haired cats can particularly benefit from regular grooming as it helps prevent the formation of knots on the skin and hairballs in the stomach.

We encourage you to also engage in regular grooming with your pet at home. There are numerous benefits of regular grooming, for example:
  • Decreased chance of skin problems
  • Optimal skin cleanliness and comfort for you and your pet
  • Improved monitoring of health issues like cuts, heat, swelling, lameness, or changes in temperament.
  • Enhanced behavioural routines with obedient submission during grooming periods
  • Closer bonding with your pet through regular contact
