Visiting Specialists

Orthopaedic

Orthopaedic surgery encompasses any surgery that is related to bones or joints. It includes procedures such as fracture repairs, ligament repairs and spinal surgery to name a few.
Visiting specialist, Dr Sue Gibbons, uses our practice’s fully equipped surgical suite to perform routine and complex orthopaedic surgical procedures.

Internal Medicine & Ultrasound

Dr Judd Sumner regularly visits the clinic to perform routine and emergency ultrasounds as part of our vet's consultation process.

Ultrasounds are often used to view soft tissue where the X-ray may not tell us the full story. If your pet requires an ultrasound, we will ask that you fast them as many pets will require sedation to stay in a lying position for long periods of time. As the process is similar to that of a pregnancy ultrasound, your pet will be clipped and prepped with ultrasound gel in order to have good contact with the skin.

Cardiology

Pets may develop heart murmurs and other cardiac related diseases, generally later in life. While our vets are knowledgeable in diagnosing and treating these diseases, a specialist is often called to consult on the stage of the condition.

Dr Geoff Nicholson is available to visit Stones Corner Vet to perform echocardiograms and other specific testing as well as perform cardiac examinations on your pet.

Our visiting specialists accept both existing and new patients. Prior to booking specialist treatment, a consultation with our veterinary team is required. This appointment allows us to discuss your concerns, perform a thorough physical examination, and carry out diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urine tests and x-rays where appropriate, ensuring your pet receives the most suitable care.
